Hanoverian
The Hanoverian is a warmblood breed from Lower Saxony, formerly Hanover, Germany. It all began at Celle in 1735, established with The State Stud. The Hanoverian Studbook officially began it’s work in 1888, paving a path for one of the most well-known sporty breeds we use today. Hanoverians were originally bred over 300 years ago to serve as military and carriage horses. With breeding programs and the introduction of different blood, this breed of horse has since become one of the most versatile performance horses. They have been bred specifically to be a mount that has correct build, natural impulsion, and elastic gaits, followed by a willingness and temperament that is suited as an all-around mount. These horses have been greatly successful in the Olympic rings due to their nature and build.
